Modern Slavery Statement
Last updated: 15 May 2026
This statement is made pursuant to Section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. It sets out the steps that UK Energy Management Group Ltd has taken to ensure that slavery and human trafficking are not taking place in any part of our business or supply chains.
1. About UK Energy Management Group Ltd
UK Energy Management Group Ltd ("UKEM") is a UK-based company delivering energy efficiency services and renewable energy installations to domestic customers across mainland Great Britain. Our products and services include the supply and installation of solar panels, battery storage systems, boilers, air source heat pumps, EV chargers, insulation, and heating controls.
Company number: 10830291
Registered address: 6 Crown Road, Quay West Business Village, Sunderland, SR5 2AL
Our operations are primarily within the UK. We engage a network of suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers to support the delivery of our services.
2. Our Commitment
We are committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in our business activities and supply chains. We take a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking and expect equivalent standards from those we work with.
3. Our Supply Chains
Our supply chains include:
- Manufacturers and distributors of solar panels, inverters, battery storage systems, boilers, heat pumps, EV chargers, and insulation materials
- Approved subcontractors and installation engineers
- Scaffolding and access equipment providers
- Lead generation and marketing partners
- Technology and software service providers
- Office, administrative, and logistics service providers
While we assess our exposure to modern slavery risk as low given the nature and geography of our operations, we remain vigilant, particularly in relation to subcontracted labour and overseas manufacturer supply chains.
4. Policies and Procedures
To address and mitigate modern slavery risks, we maintain the following policies and controls:
- Anti-slavery and human trafficking policy
- Code of conduct for staff and contractors
- Whistleblowing policy, enabling confidential reporting of concerns
- Supplier code of conduct, setting clear expectations regarding labour practices and ethical standards
- Recruitment and employment practices that verify the right to work in the UK and ensure fair terms of employment
Any concerns raised are reviewed promptly and, where appropriate, escalated to senior management for investigation and action.
5. Due Diligence
We conduct risk-based due diligence on suppliers and subcontractors. This includes:
- Pre-engagement assessments of new suppliers and subcontractors
- Requiring contractual commitments to comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2015
- Verifying that subcontractors hold appropriate certifications, registrations, and insurance
- Periodic review of existing supplier relationships
- Monitoring for indicators of forced labour, exploitation, or non-compliance
6. Risk Assessment and Management
We assess modern slavery risk across our operations and supply chains, with particular focus on:
- Subcontracted installation labour, where workers may be engaged through intermediaries
- Product supply chains involving overseas manufacturing, particularly for solar panels, battery cells, and EV charger components
- New supplier and subcontractor relationships where due diligence has not yet been established
Where elevated risk is identified, we take appropriate steps including enhanced due diligence, contractual safeguards, and, where necessary, termination of the business relationship.
7. Training and Awareness
We provide awareness training to relevant staff to help them recognise the signs of modern slavery, understand how to report concerns, and appreciate the importance of responsible procurement.
8. Effectiveness and Monitoring
We monitor the effectiveness of our approach through annual review of this statement and supporting policies, staff training records, supplier compliance monitoring, and review of any reported concerns. No incidents of modern slavery have been reported during the current reporting period.
9. Future Actions
For the upcoming financial year, we intend to:
- Strengthen supplier onboarding processes to include specific modern slavery risk assessments
- Expand awareness training across additional teams and departments
- Review overseas manufacturer supply chains for solar, battery, and EV charger products, with particular attention to raw material sourcing
- Maintain and improve our ongoing monitoring and reporting processes
10. Approval
This statement was approved by the Board of Directors of UK Energy Management Group Ltd on behalf of the company.
